Homemade avocado face mask for every occasion
Avocado is a classic when it comes down to homemade, natural cosmetics. It contains a lot of unsaturated fatty acids, minerals and vitamins and thus provides vital nutrients for your skin. It also contains collagen, which smooths your skin and naturally slows down the ageing process. Furthermore an avocado face mask can help against serious skin issues such as acne or irritations.
You can add a whole bunch of different ingredients to the avocado, matching the mixture to a specific skin type and/or purpose. For normal skin use ½ avocado, 1tbsp. of tomato paste and 1 tbsp. of lime juice. Firstly use a small bowl and smash the pulp of the avocado with a fork. Secondly add the tomato purée. Finally pour in the lime juice and continue mixing until you have a nice smooth paste.
If you have dry skin, you can alter the mixture slightly. Instead of the tomato paste we use skin nurturing and moisturising honey. We also reduce the amount of lime juice.
The procedure itself is exactly the same. Put half an avocado into a bowl and smash it with a fork. This time we add 2 tbsp. of honey and finally pour in just 1 tsp. of lime juice. Mix everything until it is smooth.
Another variation is to use only 1 tbsp. of honey and additionally 1 tbsp. of cheese curd or natural yoghurt. The amount of lime juice stays the same.
Before using the masks, firstly clean your skin with mild soap and warm water. Make sure you rinse properly to get rid of any soap residue. Afterwards dry your face thoroughly. Apply the avocado mixture onto your skin and keep it on for about 15 to 20 minutes. Finally remove the mask with warm water.
